Negotiation with Corpac (Airport Operator of Cusco and State-owned entity) for the baggage inspection service by X-Ray Machines (HBS).
Corpac intended the airlines to sign the HBS service contract only with Longport, (the supplier that would provide the HBS service), a company that offered uncompetitive prices and that was chosen by Corpac.
In this regard, our advisory services included,
– Accompanying Viva in the coordination with the airlines, negotiations with Corpac for making them understand that the airlines are the one that have to responsibility and right to choose the supplier, DGAC (Peruvian Aeronautical Authority) for them to issue the correspondent opinion supporting airlines’ right, Ositran (supervisory body of the investment in infrastructure for public transportation) for them to include the services as an essential regulated facility and Longport, the current supplier to avoid any actions against the airlines for not choosing them as supplier or for an unduly claim for non-fulfilment of the agreement.
Every step was fulfilled, and it was obtain the results expected which save money as the current service provider that offered onerous prices well above the market.
Corpac admitted to grant the access to infrastructure for the HBS service for airlines to carry out their activities and complete the logistic chain of cargo or passenger transportation.
