Our firm advised APM Terminals in the authorization of the start of works of Stage 3A of the Callao Multipurpose North Terminal expansion project, which involves an investment of US$ 95 million for the benefit of foreign trade and Peru. This Stage includes important benefits for the users of Peru’s most important port terminal, since grain silos with a capacity of 60,000 tons will be built, a new container berth will be created, state-of-the-art gantry cranes will be acquired and piers 1 and 2 will be rebuilt in a more reinforced manner.
Our role consisted of providing legal advice in order to obtain approval of the Modification of the Environmental Impact Assessment (MEIA), an essential permit to begin Stage 3A before the General Directorate of Environmental Affairs (DGAAM), which is part of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. We also supported APM with the approval of the technical file before the National Port Authority, Archaeological Monitoring Plan before the Ministry of Culture, communications before the Ministry of Transport and the general review of regulations on licenses and authorizations that had to be complied with in order to start the construction of this stage.
