We have advised Barentz International BV in the acquisition of Deltagen del Perú S.A.C., the local subsidiary of Deltagen Bioproducts within the framework of the global acquisition of Deltagen Bioproducts by Barentz International.
The transaction was carried out in two steps, the first involving the acquisition of a majority shareholding in Deltagen del Perú S.A.C. and a second step which included the buyout of minority stock from natural persons.
Our advisory not only included the elaboration of the transaction documents for the sale of the shares of the local company, but also the analysis of how the transaction may impact the Peruvian market and if it could trigger negative effects over the competition process, as well as elaboration of post-closing documents.
The transaction is relevant as it reinforces Deltagen del Perú S.A. (already a company with a long history on the market) as an important actor in the local food industry.
