VIVA AIRLINES PERU S.A.C.

Obtaining approval of issuance of electronics tickets Our team was assisted Viva Air, a Peruvian low cost airline which is member of Viva Group, to enter the Peruvian market. In their strategy one of the main issues is to have the possibility to issue electronic tickets that could be recognized by the Peruvian tax authority. This is important for Viva’s clients for tax purposes. The problem was that the Navitaire, the electronic tickets issuance system was not recognized by IATA and this one was a legal requirement. Viva could not change to another system as Navitaire was the one used by the group. This was very complex process that needed to be completed in a short time frame and we provided strategic advice and coordinations with IATA and Sabre as owner of Navitaire. We held meetings with IATA International offices, communications with Sabre and Navitaire to explain what Viva requires to fulfil. Finally, we obtained the recognition by IATA of Navitaire as a system that fulfils IATA requirements. After such recognition Viva was able to continue with its strategy to increase its presence in the Peruvian market. IATA recognized our efforts for expand their knowledge of new issuance systems that are commonly used by low cost airlines which IATA wants also attract to the association.
